Joan Chamorro presenta Carla Motis

Carla Motis joined the Sant Andreu Jazz Band in 2008, at the age of 11, and has been the only guitarist who has been part of the band.

Like Freddie Green in Count Basie's big band, Carla Motis has discreetly, over the years, given a special sound to the rhythm section. Her time, with each passing day, became more solid, her compings supported the emerging soloists and she remained in the background, producing great rhythmn and harmony.

And growing and enjoying every day of her evolution, the release of this CD allows us to hear Carla's wonderful phrasing, as well as a beautiful sound and a coherent and increasingly original discourse. One of the things I would especially like to highlight is the incredible tempo and swing that characterises it.

"Carla is coming", and may it never stop, because I am convinced that Carla has a lot to tell us with her voice, with the voice of her guitar, because both are the same, and they merge, as it cannot be otherwise in her, a marvellous artist.
