Jan Domènech, aged 12, joined the Young Cats (the youngest members of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band). That was 2010.
The following year he was already a member of the Band, and played several pieces at the concert at the Palau de la Música. From that year onwards, his presence in the SAJB gradually became more important.
This CD features renowned international soloists such as Scott Hamilton, Dick Oatts, Joe Magnarelli, with the voices of Andrea Motis, Joana Casanova and Alba Armengou. Several of the songs feature David Xirgu on drums. His colleagues in the SAJB also have an important presence in the new work, as has been the case in the last few CDs.
As we are about to celebrate 15 years of the project, it makes me proud and enormously happy to have this new "Joan Chamorro presenta" and to see how Jan Domènech is slowly establishing his place on the Catalan jazz scene.
