September in the rain - Barcelona jazz Orquestra

The Barcelona Jazz Orquestra (BJO) joins forces with the iconic Jesse Davis, who returns to the Barcelona International Jazz Festival after playing as a soloist with the San Andréu Jazz Band, to pay tribute to the man who, 17 years ago, was its first guest conductor: Frank Wess (1922-2013), illustrious saxophonist in Count Basie's orchestra, Sammy Davis Jr.'s right-hand man on Broadway for 20 years, a pioneer in introducing the flute into jazz and, finally, an accomplice of the BJO on tours and concerts such as the one they played two years ago at New York's Lincoln Center.

A tribute as inevitable as it is promising, which will also be joined by the imposing trumpeter Terell Stafford, who worked with Wess on his latest projects.
